These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Crackmate — our website at crackmate.io, our installable web application, and any related services (together, the "Platform"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
The short version. Crackmate is a study tool for JEE aspirants. We help you find and fix what you keep getting wrong. We do not promise you a rank, a score, or admission anywhere — no honest preparation platform can. Your result depends on your own work.
Crackmate ("Crackmate", "we", "us", "our") is an examination-preparation platform for candidates preparing for engineering entrance examinations in India. The Platform is operated from Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. You can reach us at any time using the details in section 16 or on our contact page.
We are independent. Crackmate is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), the National Testing Agency (NTA), JoSAA, the CBSE, or any examination authority, coaching institute, or university. Names of examinations and institutions are used only to describe the exams we help you prepare for.
The Platform is intended for candidates preparing for engineering entrance examinations, which typically means students in Class 11, Class 12, and repeat-year candidates.
Many of our users are under 18 and are therefore treated as children under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. If you are under 18, you may use the Platform only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, and that parent or guardian accepts these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use of the Platform, including any payment made through your account.
Details of how we handle children's personal data, and the consent we are required to obtain, are set out in our Privacy Policy.
The Platform provides practice questions, mock tests, study planning, spaced revision, progress analytics, error and performance diagnosis, curated learning content, and interactive games and simulations. Specific features may be added, changed, or withdrawn over time (section 10), and some features require a paid subscription (section 5).
What we do not promise. To be explicit, because this industry has a poor record on the point:
Examination information is not official. We publish general information about examination eligibility, syllabus, pattern and process as a convenience. Examination authorities change these rules, dates and fees from cycle to cycle. Always verify anything that matters against the official sources — jeemain.nta.ac.in and jeeadv.ac.in. We are not responsible for decisions you take based on general information published here.
You agree not to:
We may investigate suspected breaches and take the steps described in section 14.
The Platform, and all software, text, explanations, solutions, analytics, designs, graphics, and other material we provide, are owned by us or licensed to us and are protected by intellectual property law. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Platform for your own examination preparation. No other rights are granted.
Questions taken from past examination papers remain the property of the relevant examination authority. Where we reproduce such material, we do so for the purpose of study, review and instruction, together with our own solutions and explanations, which are ours. Our marks, name and logo may not be used without our written permission.
If you believe material on the Platform infringes your rights, write to us at the address in section 16 with enough detail to identify the material and your claim, and we will investigate.
You retain ownership of anything you submit — answers, notes, reports, and messages. You grant us a licence to host, process, and use that material to operate and improve the Platform, including in aggregated and de-identified form for analytics, research and quality improvement. How your personal data is handled is set out in the Privacy Policy.
If you send us feedback, suggestions or bug reports, we may use them without obligation or compensation to you.
The Platform links to and embeds third-party content, including educational videos hosted on external platforms, and links to official examination websites. We do not control that content, do not endorse it merely by linking to it, and are not responsible for it. Your use of a third-party service is governed by that service's own terms and privacy policy.
We work to keep the Platform available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, and may perform maintenance, at any time. Some features may be offered as trials, betas, or experiments and may be changed or withdrawn without notice.
Where a change materially reduces a paid feature you are currently paying for, we will give you reasonable notice and, where appropriate, a remedy under the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for any loss of opportunity, expected marks, rank, admission, or academic outcome, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform.
Where we are found liable, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you actually paid us for the Platform in the twelve months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim, and (b) ₹1,000.
Again, nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Platform, or your infringement of another person's rights.
You may stop using the Platform and close your account at any time by writing to us.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms — in particular section 6 — or where we are required to do so by law. Where the circumstances allow it, we will tell you why and give you an opportunity to respond. If we terminate your paid access for a reason that is not your breach, we will refund the unused portion in accordance with the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
Sections 7, 8, 11, 12, 13 and 15 survive termination.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to the paragraph below, the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory consumer law, or of your right to approach the consumer forums available to you under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. Before starting any formal proceeding, please contact us first — most issues are resolved quickly at that stage.
